Full Description

Former school and schoolmaster’s house. The school is a rectangular plan one storey red brick building in English Bond, under a pitched gabled roof of slate. One lateral stack with brick tumbling. The schoolmaster’s house is a two storey red brick building in English Bond, under a pitched gabled roof of slate. One lateral stack. {1} White’s 1872 Trade Directory states that the National School was built in 1861, and was attended by over 60 children at the time. {2} It is unclear when the school was closed.
