Full Description

Former school. Large one and a half storey red brick building in Flemish Bond, under a hipped slate roof. A metal plaque on the front elevation reads “National School 1821”. {1} White’s 1856 Trade Directory states that the National School built by subscription in 1821, with a schoolmaster’s house built around 1850. The location of the schoolmaster's house is uncertain. {2} It is unclear when the building ceased to be used as a school.
