Former school. Two storey brick building, possibly built in two phases. Half buff brick in English Garden Wall Bond, half red brick in Flemish Bond, under a pitched gabled roof of slate. At least one original window opening has been infilled. There are decorative bargeboards on the gables of the southeastern wing. A modern sunroom extension has been added to the south elevation. {1} White's 1856 Trade Directory states that the parish school was built in 1849. {2} In 1957 the decision was made to close the school, though this decision faced opposition from the school's managers, the locals, and the MP for Horncastle.
