Full Description

Former school. Small two storey brick building under a tile roof. One lateral stack. Modern lean-to extensions. Partial infill of large segmental arch window opening, with modern uPVC replacement windows. The building is shown in an L-shape plan form on 1906 OS map. {1}{2} In 1957, the school was too overcrowded to take children from Fulletby school as part of proposed plans for the latter's closure. {3} The school had only 22 pupils in 1967 and was expected to be closed, but received a reprieve after protests from locals, the school managers, and the MP for Horncastle. {4} By 1981 the school had been closed and was being sold with planning permission for conversion to residential use. {5}
