Full Description

Site of a former school. It is shown on the 1905 OS map in an L-shape plan form. {1} White’s 1856 Trade Directory states that a small school existed in the parish, supported by subscription. White’s 1872 Directory states that the parochial school was enlarged in 1870 “to meet the requirements of the Educational Act”. {2}{3} By 1951 the school had closed and was up for sale as a private residence. It is unclear when the building was demolished. A modern detached house now occupies the site, though the outbuilding to the northeast may be original. {4}
