Full Description

Site of 19th century school buildings in Grimoldby. A narrow rectangular building with a wide porch, presumably the schoolroom, and an L-shape plan building, likely to be the schoolmaster's house. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that a school was erected in 1866 to provide education for the children of Grimoldby and Manby parishes, which was attended by 60 pupils. An adjacent schoolmaster's house was constructed in 1870. The combined cost of the construction was £270. {2} It is unclear when the original school buildings were demolished. The site is now occupied by Grimoldby Primary School's modern buildings, which are likely late 20th century in date. {3}
