Full Description

Former Girls' National School, built in 1834. The infants were taught on the ground floor and the older pupils on the first floor. A fire engine house was also built on this site, but was destroyed in the 1920 Louth Flood, at which time the ground floor of the school was taken over by the fire service and the teaching of the infants was moved to the technical institute building (MLI91822). The move was completed in 1923. The site is now occupied by a car park. It is unclear when the school building was demolished. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
