Full Description

Former school, now demolished. Built as a Free School for the parishes of North and South Somercotes in 1854 to replace an earlier school. A modern school, opened in the autumn term of 1991, is now in use further down School Lane. The old school building was demolished at some point after July 1991. {1}{2} The building had an L-shape plan form in the 1888, 1907, and 1951 OS maps, and was labelled as a school on all three. {3}{4}{5}
