Full Description

Former school building, now in use as a private residence. Cross-wing plan form building of coursed stone, under a pitched gabled roof of tile. One ridge stack and one lateral stack. {1} White's 1856 Trade Directory states that the parish school was built in 1845 by an A. Boucherett, Esq. {2} The building is present in its current plan form in the 1887, 1906 and 1950 OS maps of the village, and is marked as a school on each. By 1942 the school's attendance had dwindled, with only seven children taught there. It is uncertain when the school closed down. {3}{4}{5}{6}
