Full Description

A 16th century inn, possibly earlier. It was located on the southern side of the junction of White Horse Lane and High Street. It was a two-storey four-bay timber framed building with a tile gabled roof and a possible basement. It had its licensed removed by 1680 and was moved to Furthend Lane, now West Street. The building was demolished at some point between 1680 and 1856. Part of the building would have been located on the widened part of White Horse Lane. {1}
