Full Description

School buildings dating to the late 19th century. The original buildings consist of a one and a half storey schoolroom in English Bond, under a pitched gabled roof of slate, and a narrow two storey schoolmaster's house, also constructed out of red brick under a pitched gabled slate roof with a single large ridge stack. The two buildings form a cross-wing plan, with the gable of the schoolmaster's house facing the street. {1} The 1905 OS map shows the original school, a small sub-rectangular building set back from the street, with the schoolmaster's house appended to the west. {2} In 1872 the buildings were in use as a National School, attended by 30 children. {3}
