Full Description

Former schoolroom and schoolmaster's house. The school is a single storey ashlar building, under a pitched gabled roof of slate. The schoolmaster's house is a two storey cross-winged building, also of ashlar, under a pitched gabled roof of slate {1} The two buildings described are shown in their current plan on the 1906 OS map, though a third building at this position, possibly an outhouse or other ancillary building, appears to have been demolished in the 20th century. {2} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that a day school in the village, presumably held in this building, was attended by around 20 children. {3}
