Full Description

The Cross Inn is located outside just outside of Mablethorpe in the crossroads of Alford Road and the A1031, and was established at some point between 1847 and 1872. It does not appear in the 1847 Mablethorpe tithe map and is mentioned in an 1872 newspaper article. {1}{2} In the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map, surveyed in 1888, the Cross Inn comprises two buildings. {3} Of the original buildings only the western one remains, with modern extensions built between 2003 and 2005. {4} The Cross Inn is now called the Cross Guest House. It probably became a guest house at the beginning of the 21st century; in 1999 it was still reffered to as the Cross Inn in a newspaper article. {5}{6}
