Full Description

Public House. Painted brick and stone construction, under a pitched gabled tile roof. Originally L-plan building, with modern brick built pantile gabled range and flat-roofed infill, both with dentil course under eaves, added since 1950. Original ranges have dressed quoins on the corners. Two gable stacks and one ridge stack. White's 1856 Trade Directory names Robert Robinson as 'victualler' at the Duke of Wellington, and the 1872 Directory names Matthew Rowston. {1}{2}{3}{4}
