Full Description

Type 23 three-bay concrete anti-aircraft pillbox, on the eastern side of Nunn's Bridge. A hexagonal type 22 pillbox was located nearby, on the western side of Nunn's Bridge (see MLI13420). {1}{2} The pillbox is clearly discernible as an extant structure on an aerial photograph taken of this area in July 1971. {3} The pillbox was still extant when visited by the Defence of Britain project in the late 1990s. No trace of the structure can now be discerned on more recent aerial photography, however, or on Google Streetview, and it may have since been demolished. {4}
