Full Description

The newly-erected Louth Hotel was put for sale in 1879 by the Louth-based East and Co Brewers. They built the hotel near the railway station, which opened in 1877, to capitalise on the expected increase of visitors to the town [1]. The railway station closed in 1970, which led to the hotel to the repurposing of the building. The first floor was converted into flats and the ground floor was divided into shops and a public house, which is still known as 'The Louth' [2]. The building is of two storeys and constructed of red brick, with modern frontage. [3]
