Full Description

An Elizabethan style house called Carlton Lodge or The Lodge, built in 1833 by the Foster family. It was bought by the vicar of Great Carlton in 1846 and used as his residence. The house was demolished at some point between 1953 and 1964, with some of the buildings surrounding the main residence remaining until at least 1971. A large house was built in the location of Carlton Lodge at some point between 1971 and 2003. Three further large houses were built at some point in this period in the lodge's gardens, south of Carlton Lodge, along Main Road. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
