Full Description

A Second World War gun emplacement is known to have been formerly located in this area at Rimac House. The emplacement was listed as part of the 'Rimac' defence locality, and housed a 6 pounder gun. {1}{2} No trace of the former emplacement could be discerned on an aerial photograph taken of this location in August 1971. The earthworks associated with the emplacement were likely removed at the same time as the adjacent Rimac House was cleared, at some point in the late 1950s or early 1960s. {3}
