Full Description

A roadblock was established in this location during the Second World War. The defences were manned by members of the Home Guard, with 12 anti-tank mines ready to be deployed in the event of impending attack. The roadblock would likely have also consisted of a line of anti-tank cylinders positioned across the road (of which none are no longer extant). {1}{2}
