Wrangle and Leake Bede Houses, Founded 1555. {1}
Thomas Alenson's will, dated 1555 created a trust that was supplemented by a bequest of nine acres by the Reverend W. Erskine. In 1837 the almshouse was said to be dilapidated, it consisted of four apartments. {2}
