Two rectangular defence structures, thought to have been former Second World War pillboxes, were noted in this area to the north-east of Freiston Shore, on an aerial photograph taken in 1940. The structures were not visible on later aerial photographs taken of this area in 1971, and are thought to have been demolished in about 1960. {1}{2}
