Full Description

During a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording at Cock Hill House, No. 7 West End, Burgh le Marsh, a 3rd-4th century ploughsoil horizon was encountered. It extended across the entire excavation area and contained eleven sherds of 3rd-4th century pottery. As this overlies a Roman cremation and possible inhumation (MLI), this indicates a subsequent phase of the site, which was agricultural in nature.{1}{2}
