Full Description

Several sherds of medieval pottery were found in this area in April and May 2020, during archaeological investigation of land at Grinter Close. The sherds were recovered from former plough soil deposits in the eastern part of the site, and were thought to derive from former manuring activity. The assemblage was comprised of two sherds from a large Potterhanworth bowl of 13th-15th century date, a basal sherd from a Beverley Type 2 jug of 13th-mid-14th century date, and a single sherd from a large Lincoln Glazed Ware jug, dated to the 14th-15th century. {1}{2}
