Full Description

Bronze or iron dagger found by a schoolboy in a field to the east of the Abbey. Consisted of 3 pieces when found but the pommel, thought to be of bronze as well as the hilt was lost by the finder before being drawn. Dagger seen by Dr A. Rogers who identified it as late C15 - early C16 dress dagger. {1}{2} TF251405: 1970 to east of abbey site 20 Toynton sherds, 3 sherds copper glaze 14 Bourne D, etc. {3}
