Full Description

A range of probable former store buildings at the Boston Gas Works. The buildings are thought to have been constructed in about 1871, at the same time that a major phase of expansion was conducted at the works (see MLI92060). The southernmost part of the range is thought to have been used as clerk's offices, being more formally constructed and detailed. The northern, likely storeroom part of the range is single storey, with the larger southern part of the range being of two-storeys. The buildings are constructed of red brick, with yellow bricks used for detailing around the window and door openings. The pitched roofs are of slate, with two brick chimney stacks at the main gable ends of the larger southern part of the range. {1}{2}{3}
