A 19th century milestone is located in this position on the western side of London Road. It is of cast iron and appears to have been fairly recently re-painted white. It is inscribed 'SILK WILLOUGHBY PARISH' in the top panel, with 'LONDON 113' in the gable panel, and 'SLEAF.D 2' and 'FALK.M 7' in the respective side panels. {1}{2} The milestone is shown on the 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map, although it is depicted a short distance to the north of its current position, suggesting that it has been moved slightly from its original position at some point. {3}
