Full Description
A fired clay and shell-tempered object was found in November 2016, during archaeological monitoring of new construction at Labernum Cottage, Middlefield Lane. The object was thought to possibly be the remains of a Roman kiln prop or other furniture associated with pottery production. It was thought to be a probable residual find, being mixed in with a spread of demolition debris, from which fragments of mid to late post-medieval pottery, brick and tile were also recovered. {1}{2}
