Crash site of an Avro Lancaster bomber aircraft, that came down on land close to Manor Farm and the Church of St Lawrence, Revesby. The aircraft was designated ND415, and crashed during the Second World War.

Full Description
An Avro Lancaster Mk III bomber aircraft crashed close to this location on the 23rd of May 1944. The aircraft was designated ND415 of 97 Squadron, and was based at RAF Coningsby. The plane was returning from a bombing run to Brunswick, and preparing to land when it collided with Lancaster LL967 of 57 Squadron. Whilst LL967 managed to land safely, Lancaster ND415 crashed at Revesby, with the loss of all 7 crew members. The exact site of the crash is not clearly recorded, but is believed to be in this vicinity, on the narrow strip of land between Manor Farm and the Church of St Lawrence. {1}{2}
The crew members who died in the crash are commemorated on a memorial inside the nearby Church of St Lawrence, along with other men from Revesby parish who died during the Second World War (see MLI93312). {3}
