Full Description

A possible remnant of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation was identified in this location in July 2016, during archaeological monitoring of the construction of an extension to Lakeview, Riseholme Lane. The monitoring noted that there was a greater depth of subsoil in the south-east part of the site, which became shallower towards the north-west. This changing level was thought to possibly indicate the remains of former medieval ridge and furrow in this area, potentially associated with the more extensive medieval remains located to the north of Riseholme Lane. {1}{2}
