Full Description

The remains of two probable Iron Age round house sites were identified in this location in 2016, during analysis of aerial photographs taken in 2010. The features were visible as cropmarks and soilmarks of the surrounding ring ditches, although exact measurements of the features were not obtained. The probable round houses lie to the immediate west of a Neolithic long barrow (see MLI52391), and are overlain by the remains of a Romano-British settlement site (see MLI50634). The round houses would suggest that a sequence of settlement and occupation of this area has occurred over a long time period. {1}
