Full Description

The remains of a post-medieval ditch was identified in this location in May 2018, during trial trenching on land off Seas End Road. The ditch was aligned on a north-east to south-west axis, running parallel to the nearby River Glen, possibly serving as a former flood defence. A few fragments of post-medieval brick were recovered from the ditch's fill, along with two clay tobacco pipe stems of late 17th to early 18th century date. {1}{2}
