Full Description

The former outbuilding at Manor House Farm was the subject of a programme of historic building recording, conducted in May 2008 to inform its proposed demolition and re-development. The structure was thought to date to the 19th century, although was extensively altered and rebuilt in the 20th century, with little of the original fabric remaining at the time of survey. The earliest part of the building was constructed of red brick, laid in an English Garden Wall bond. It was single-storey, and appears to have been originally attached to the main house, when it was likely being used for storage. Major alterations took place in 1971 when it was converted to a free-standing building, with large parts being re-built with concrete blocks and the pitched pantile roof being re-laid with felt underneath. Internal partitions installed within the building at this point created 3 loose boxes for the stabling of horses, although its later use reverted back to storage. The structure was demolished shortly after the survey was completed. {1}{2}
