Full Description

Concealed behind trees to the west of the Church of St Polycarp is a freestanding store and toilet block structure. It is of red brick with black string courses, and stepped brick gable decoration, matching the style of the adjacent church with which it is likely contemporary (see PRN 27317). There are two doorways on the east gable end, the right side of which may have been a stable for the vicar's horse, as it has two high level openings and traces of where a manger may have been attached. Two privies are on the north side for girls, and a slate urinal and privy opening off it on the south side are for boys. {1}{2}
