Full Description

The remains of a post-medieval ditch and a probable post-medieval boundary feature were recorded in this location in April 2019, during trial trenching on land off Littleworth Drove. A small assemblage of post-medieval brick and ceramic material was recovered from the fills of the ditches, along with a fragment of animal bone. The brick assemblage included two large fragments of handmade brick with mortar, and an abraded fragment of brick with straw or grass marked sides. The animal bone was a fragment of goat metacarpal which showed signs of canid gnawing and puncture marks. {1}{2}
