Full Description
An Avro Lancaster Mk III bomber aircraft crashed on land to the west of Ulceby Cross on the 4th of March 1945. The aircraft was designated PB476 of 12 Squadron, and was based at RAF Wickenby. It was taking part in a training flight when it was shot down by a German intruder. All seven of the crew died in the crash. A memorial to the crew members was unveiled in 1995, on land a short distance to the south of the crash site (see MLI125556). {1}{2}
