Full Description

Easternmost of three former type DD atomic bomb stores at RAF Faldingworth. It was built in the early 1950s, and was in use until 1972, when the RAF base closed. The bomb store is a long, rectangular structure with a flat roof, which is surrounded by earthen bunding faced with a concrete retaining wall. The building is constructed out of a reinforced concrete frame with breeze block panel infill, and the doors are strengthened sheet metal.
