Full Description

Several of the former buildings at the Stoke Rochford Golf Club are believed to have been used during the Second World War as a former war production factory. This site likely functioned as an outstation of the British Manufacturing and Research Company shadow factory at Grantham. The main factory site was set up for the production of the 20mm Hispano Suiza aircraft cannon. Elements of this production were dispersed to several nearby sites in an effort to ensure continued production, should the main site be damaged or compromised. {1}
