Full Description
Gainborough Town Hall, located on the market square, was built in 1892, on the site of the old Moot Hall, which featured an assembly room above shops and was also included Gainsborough's prison. The Hall was expanded in 1908. The façade of the building has reportedly been demolished and rebuilt on several occassions, most extensively in the 1950s after the building sustained damaged during the Second World War. The Town Hall originally shared the building with several shops and a butter market. {1}{2}
