Full Description

Former workshops of Abbey Joinery, located off Mill Yard, Bardney. The workshops were recorded in a programme of historic building recording in April 2017, prior to being converted into a residential dwelling. The original workshop was built between 1842-1887, with more modern extensions added in the mid and late 20th century. It is a single storey, single room building, with a gabled roof. The workshop is built out of a mix of courses of brick headers and courses of brick stretchers, with no distinctive bond. The roof is timber framed, and is covered with red pantiles with ridge tiles at the apex. The workshop has two protruding decorative string courses of brick headers just below the roof. Its southern elevation has two curved window arches incorporated into the brickwork, but the windows have been replaced with a single opening, covered with a modern, timber double door. {1}{2}
