Full Description

A hoard of silver coins of Henry VIII were discovered at a depth of approximately 3ft, during the construction of a new fence at Freiston. The hoard consisted of approximately 160 coins of four denominations (shilling, silver penny, groat, and half-groat), all thought to date to 1545. The coins were found inside a handmade, glazed earthenware jug, about 4.5" tall and 12" in diameter. The exact findspot is unknown. {1}
