Full Description

The former Mission Church of St Andrew was built in 1879, on the corner of High Street and Station Approach. It was constructed of local red brick, with yellow brick used as decorative string courses and dressings. It features a steeply pitched slate roof with a pyramidal bell tower, offset from the centre of ridgeline. It was designed by Goddard of Lincoln and cost £1050 to construct, with this amount being entirely raised by public subscription. The church was built during the late 19th century expansion of Saxilby to provide an alternative to the rather distant parish Church of St Botolph. It was closed as a church in 1968, but continued in use as a youth club, until new premises became available in 1996. After several years of abandonment, the building was converted to be used as a private residence in 2005, and is now known as St Andrew's Hall. {1}
