Full Description

The remains of a probable First World War trapezoidal pillbox was recorded in this location, to the east of Jarvis's Farm. Photographs of the remains were taken in June 2012, during site visits conducted for the Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. The remains comprise two large sections of concrete pillbox roof, with a third, much smaller fragment nearby. No traces of any former walls could be discerned, however, and the exact original location of the structure is uncertain. The rusticated appearance of the remains matches that of known First World War structures in this area, and it was thought likely that this structure had contemporary origins. {1}
