Full Description

Old Hall Farm, Barholm. A partially extant 19th century farmstead with probable medieval origins. The farm is built on a regular courtyard with L-plan range plus detached buildings to the fourth side of the yard. The farmhouse is detached with the long axis facing on to the yard. {1} Comparing the buildings visible on 19th and 20th century Ordnance Survey mapping, the legibility and survival of the buildings is good, although later alterations are noted. {3} A small number of test pits were excavated in 2016 to the south of the Old Hall itself within the farm, with subsoil and a probable levelling layer recorded. {4}{5}
