Full Description

This former agricultural building was the subject of a brief historic building survey, conducted March 2003, in advance of the structure's proposed renovation. The building is a two-storey, former barn and stable with granary over, and is thought to date to c.1780. The building is constructed to a similar design as the nearby Holywell Grange farmhouse (see PRN 55900), being built of coursed limestone rubble with brick quoins and dressings. The roofs were originally of pitched pantiles, partially hipped at the northern end, although the larger barn section covering was replaced with corrugated metal sheeting. The building was in a poor condition when surveyed, with much of the barn roof and parts of its walling having collapsed. {1}
