Full Description

A small quantity of late 12th to 14th century medieval pottery was recovered from this location in January 2016, during trial trenching on land off Sunnydale Close. The pottery was recovered from the infill of a former watercourse, and was later in date than that recovered from the deposits associated with former saltworking in this area, suggesting that this industrial activity had ceased prior to the creeks in this area having fully silted up. {1}{2}
