Full Description

A former gatehouse and bridge over the outer moat at Tattershall Castle. The structures likely date to the rebuilding of Tattershall Castle as a fortified house in c.1440 and are now in ruins. A programme of archaeological recording was conducted in June and July 1998, during repair works to the structures. The recording comprised the taking of photographs and the creation of plans and elevations of the surviving structural elements. {1}
