Full Description

Martins Farm, Crowland. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Dispersed with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been significant loss (greater than 50%) of traditional buildings. Isolated location. Large modern sheds are located on the site. {1} A study of the history and development of Martins Farm was included in the programme of historic building recording, conducted in July 2011, prior to the proposed conversion to residential use of some of the former farm buildings. The original farmhouse to Martins Farm was located to the north of the main group of farm buildings, but was demolished at some point in the second half of the 20th century. It had been replaced by the current, smaller house on the site by 1975. {2}{3}
