Full Description

Site of Gibraltar Farm, Wainfleet St Mary. Demolished 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of L plan. The farmhouse was detached from the main working complex. Isolated location. {1} The farmstead is depicted on the 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map, which shows two adjoining ranges of farm buildings arranged in an L-shaped plan around a central crewyard. The separate former farmhouse was located a short distance to the west. {2} The farmhouse and most of the farm buildings had been demolished by the 1940s, although the eastern range of farm buildings survived until the late 1960s before also being demolished. {3}
