Full Description

Depicted in the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey 25" County Series map, labelled as 'Holbeck Lodge', and on the 2nd Edition map as 'Holbeck Manor'. {1}{2} A photographic survey was conducted on the northeast stable range in 2022, prior to its conversion to a residential property. The stable is built of buff brick in English Garden Wall Bond, under a pitched hipped slate roof. The lower storey comprises a tack room, three loose boxes, and a store room. This range may have originally been the manor's coach house, with the single storey range to the southeast (still with stable doors at the time of survey) acting as the original stables. The storeroom walls are of breezeblock and in the northeast elevation there are four large infilled arches, with a further two in the southwest elevation. These likely provided access for coaches between the stable yard and the main driveway to the north. {3}
