South Hykeham Grange. Partially extant 19th century historic farmstead. Regular courtyard with linked working buildings to all four sides of the yard. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Isolated location. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {1} Many of the farm buildings are actually thought to be earlier than the 19th century, being likely early 18th century in date. The farmhouse is thought to have been very little altered since its orignal construction in c.1700. {2} The placename 'Grange' could possibly indicate an even earlier, medieval use of the site. {3}
